IELTS is an International English Language Testing System. It is required to be taken by international students, professionals (including doctors, nurses, all health care professionals and teachers) along with prospective immigrants. It is a mandatory test for some visa categories for Australia, New Zealand, Canada and U K., USA Organisations like CGFNS, Irish nursing and NHS who accepts IELTS. Now-a-days it is recognised as an alternative to TOEFL,PTE & CAE by many universities across the globe
It tests the examinees proficiency of English language skills, which will be used by the students when studying or training English. There is an option of either academic or general training reading and writing modules. Academic is suitable for candidates aspiring to pursue higher education study, health care and teaching. General training is suitable for candidates going abroad to take non-academic training or work experience or for immigration purposes.
IELTS is jointly administered by IDP Education IELTS Australia(www.ieltsidpindia.com) and British Council under university of Cambridge ESOL examinations (Cambridge ESOL)
Candidates are tested in listening, reading, writing, and speaking modules. If the candidate is planning to undertake academic study, it is mandatory that the candidate appears for the academic module of IELTS achieving 6.5 overall score out of 9 bands. If the candidate is planning to undertake non-academic training (immigration, work, etc), General training IELTS it is a pre-requisite of that
Total duration of the test is 2hours & 40 mins.
The duration of the test is two days. The listening, reading and writing module tests are conducted on one day and the spoken interview is taken on some other day or on the same day. It may be conducted four days earlier or later, The IDP Australia conducts its speaking test earlier than its written test, and the British council on the following day of actual test day.
The results are declared online on 13th day. Test Report Form(Scorecard) generally get couriered on the 15th day.
The test report shows overall proficiency of the language as a non- native English speaker, to get .best adapted in an English speaking environment. Scores are given on a band scale from 1 to 9 including a score for each module of the test in addition to an overall score. Individual module scores and overall band score may be reported in half or whole bands
Although, there is no pass or fail marks., but expert user who has full command of the language, appropriate accurate and fluent with complete understanding gets even 9 & a non-user; essentially has no ability to use the language beyond possibly a few isolated words, but, every examinee has a required band score to be achieved no module can have supplementary examination unlike other exams could get 0 too.
The complete exam has to be repeated to achieve the desired bands.
The minimum score accepted differs from country to country and University to University. However range of 6.5 Band Score is a must to apply in abroad Universities, whereas, overall 7 bands is a must to qualify for work or immigration requirements. .
Taking the IELTS exam has now become more convenient as there is no time conditions between multiple attempts.
There is no limit to the number of times the candidate can sit for the IELTS exam
The scores are valid for 2 years
Rs. 13,650 for both Academic and General Module.
Rs. 18,650 for UKVI both Academic and General
The candidate will be assessed for two weeks by our teaching team and will be guided for suitable examinations date. Pan India exam booking will also be taken care by us.
The candidate must carry original Passport and its photocopy, Print out of the Admit Card
Along with the current and duly filled declaration form.
IELTS is not recommended for the candidates under the age of 16, with authorisation letter from the guardian as a minor applicant.
IELTS, Academic module is conducted once every week. You’re advised to book an appointment four weeks in advance.
You need to produce a valid passport when you appear for the test.
The Speaking test is a live test conducted by a certified IELTS Examiner. The Speaking test is made up of three sections. It is recorded on an audiocassette or a digital recorder.
Examiners award a band score for each of four criterion areas: Task Achievement (for Task 1), Task Response (for Task 2), Coherence and Cohesion, Lexical Resource, and Grammatical Range and Accuracy. The four criteria are equally weighed
